Qualcomm launches smart cities accelerator program with community focus
Qualcomm Technologies has announced the launch of its latest smart cities accelerator program – with a particular focus on community. According to the company, the programme will play an important role in bringing together various communities of companies that has been making use of Qualcomm Technologies’ products, in order to offer a solutions-focused website for the application of smart cities across the world. The programme will connect government agencies, cities, enterprises and municipalities with an ecosystem of providers that are offering Qualcomm Technologies’ technology-based solutions tailored for the application of smart cities. Sanjeet Pandit, senior director, business development and head of smart cities at Qualcomm, said: “The Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerator Program is a central hub for smart cities solution providers. By working with proven expertise and deployed solutions, cities, municipalities, government agencies and enterprises can speed the realization of their smart cities visions. “This program aims to foster a rich ecosystem of B2B collaborations that we hope will speed the development and deployment of smart cities solutions around the globe,” added Pandit. Earlier this month, the company also announced the launch of its new Snapdragon chips for high as well as mid-tier devices, which benefit from a big jump in AI performance. As sister publication AI News reported at the time, two chips are in the 7-series - the Snapdragon 730 and 730G, and one is in the 6-series, the Snapdragon 665.
