netElastic unveiled an enterprise branch router featuring software-defined wide-area networking (SD-WAN) to ensure mission-critical business applications are identified and prioritized over less important traffic. Such functionality is provided by SD-WAN capabilities that dynamically route applications while taking into account business policies and the performance of WANs, the company said in announcing the EBR-1000A Enterprise Branch Router. Other reported characteristics of the router's SD-WAN functionality reportedly include: Site-to-site, full-mesh, and hub-spoke secure VPN, Cloud manageable, Zero-touch provisioning, Network availability monitoring, Intelligent path selection, Active/active load balancing. In addition to SD-WAN, the router comes with baked-in application visibility that automatically detects more than 1,000 applications. Other features include: up to 2 Gbps throughput; Quality of Service (QoS) policies to give applications a pre-determined, desired performance level; dual WAN functionality that ensures secure, redundant network connectivity; and more.
