Digital.ai | April 28, 2022

Digital.ai
With the industry-leading AI-powered DevOps Platform, Digital.ai has redefined the future of software delivery for technology-driven enterprises. Ascension, the latest version, helps both commercial and public sector businesses to unify, protect, and produce predictive insights throughout the software lifecycle, improving business value via integrated software delivery and reducing technical debt through enterprise connectivity.

Technology executives can now grow their remote workforce and link agile development at the portfolio, team, and individual levels with the Ascension release. The new capabilities assist them in aligning their business strategy with team-level execution while increasing visibility throughout the whole toolchain. More than 1500 businesses across sectors, including more than half of the Fortune 500, rely on Digital.ai to handle the challenges and possibilities of digital transformation.

“The last decade’s worth of well-funded, VC-backed software vendors has forever fragmented the way software is developed and delivered. Technology leaders today need a platform that offers the connective tissue to plan, measure and accelerate business value from software investments, while reducing costs, maintaining security, and managing compliance. With our latest release, Digital.ai’s platform solves problems organizations encounter by delivering connected tools that offer a wealth of insight across the full development and delivery lifecycle.”

Stephen Elop, chief executive officer at Digital.ai

Technology executives are under a lot of pressure to develop quicker, but they’re up against a lot of obstacles. Developers spend around one-third of their time on low-level chores that might be automated, allowing them to concentrate on higher-level work. Technical debt, on the other hand, makes scaling automation difficult, and security and quality assurance teams are battling to protect and manage an ever-increasing number of mobile devices and operating systems. This is driving demand for innovative software delivery systems like Digital.ai’s AI-Powered DevOps Platform throughout the world.

“Modernizing legacy systems has been an ongoing goal for our digital transformation efforts, and moving to agile and DevOps was a critical development for us. We previously had a couple of unsuccessful attempts to replace our aging legacy financial systems, but Digital.ai made successful modernization possible,” said Jilee Rich, director, financial service center PMO, The United States Department of Veterans Affairs. “Since implementing a Scaled Agile and DevOps approach, we’re achieving our digital transformation goals. This has brought better, more consistent outcomes, predictability and more features delivery for customers, increased delivery speed and velocity, and improved interagency communications.”

Expert.Ai and Siena University Launch First AI-based Multilingual Crossword Solver

Expert.ai | June 13, 2022

WebCrow 2.0, a software developed by the University of Siena in partnership with expert.ai, a prominent business in artificial intelligence (AI) for natural language processing (NLP) and interpretation, can now solve crossword puzzles (NLU). Because of the intricacy and nuance of human language, crossword puzzles have been an exciting challenge for humans for over a century. This is also one of the most difficult and complicated aspects in AI. In fact, the most advanced linguistic technology must have a large breadth and depth of information to detect the correct meaning of words based on context. They must also be able to decipher slang, catchphrases, puns, and other ambiguous expressions. WebCrow 2.0 accomplishes all of this and more. "We're excited to introduce our intelligent machine, WebCrow, and discuss its evolution and ability to create and solve a daily standard of life, the crossword puzzle. Can machines solve these as well as humans? How do they compare definitions and answer clues with niche or abstract references? Can they pick up on plays on words, linguistic nuances and even humor? We're ready to demonstrate how leveraging context can enable humans and software to work together and take AI-based cognitive abilities to new levels." Marco Gori, Professor, Department of Information Engineering and Mathematical Sciences, University of Siena WebCrow 2.0 has been given human-like abilities to imitate human-like reading, comprehension, and reasoning processes. This enables the software to recognize the meaning of words in crossword puzzles based on definitions and other clues. "It's our business to help organizations improve any activity or process based on understanding and managing the immense wealth of information at their disposal," said Marco Varone, CTO of expert.ai. "It was very gratifying to work with researchers from the University of Siena and support their efforts with our tools for disambiguation, knowledge graph and expertise in applying AI to language. Anyone who has been challenged by a crossword is familiar with nuanced clues, so automated puzzle solving is a great way to illustrate just how far we've come in advancing natural language technologies."
