Atos and Graphcore Collaborate to Provide Sophisticated AI HPC Solutions Around the World

Atos and Graphcore have announced a partnership to accelerate AI performance and innovation by integrating Graphcore's sophisticated IPU compute platforms into Atos' recently launched ThinkAI offering to supply AI high-performance solutions to clients worldwide.

This collaboration will benefit both parties. Graphcore will gain access to a plethora of new customers, sectors, and regions thanks to Atos' long-standing position as a European leader in high-performance computing (HPC) and trusted advisor, provider, and integrator of HPC solutions at scale. Graphcore, for its part, will collaborate with Atos to broaden its global reach by focusing on large corporate enterprises in industries such as finance, healthcare, telecommunications, and consumer internet, as well as national labs and universities focused on scientific research that are rapidly developing their AI capabilities.

ThinkAI combines Atos' AI business consultancy expertise - with experts at the AtosCenter of Excellence in Advanced Computing - with its digital security capabilities and software, such as Atos HPC Software Suites - to help organisations accelerate the time to AI operationalization and industrialization.

Graphcore, the UK-based producer of the Intelligence Processing Unit (IPU), is a key component of Atos' ThinkAI product, which is aimed at both boosting pure artificial intelligence applications and enhancing standard HPC simulation with AI. ThinkAI will include Graphcore's IPU-POD systems for scale-up datacenter computing.

Even before the partnership's formal introduction today, the two companies welcomed their first big joint customer, one of South Korea's leading cloud providers, which will use Graphcore systems in large-scale AI cloud datacenters, in a deal mediated by Atos.

“ThinkAI signifies a significant investment in the future of artificial intelligence by one of the world's most reputable technology firms. “The fact that Atos has included Graphcore as a key component of its strategy speaks volumes about the maturity of our hardware and software, as well as the capacity of our systems to meet client needs,” said Fabrice Moizan, GM and SVP Sales EMEAI and Asia Pacific at Graphcore.

“With ThinkAI, we're making it possible for businesses from every industry to accomplish breakthroughs with AI,” stated Agnès Boudot, Senior Vice President, Head of HPC & Quantum at Atos. We're excited to be orchestrating these cutting-edge technologies in our ThinkAI solution, with Graphcore's IPU hardware and Poplar® software opening up new opportunities for innovators to explore the potential of AI for their organisations, complemented by our industry-tailored AI business consultancy, digital security capabilities, and software.”
