San Mateo, Calif. – September 26, 2024 – Observe Inc. , the SaaS observability company transforming how machine-generated data is stored, managed, and analyzed, today introduced its most significant product update yet: Project Voyager . The update introduces an AI Investigator that, along with OpenTelemetry-Native APM and Snowflake Observability, enables Engineering, DevOps, and SRE teams to troubleshoot incidents faster, improving overall customer experiences.
In conjunction with this announcement, Observe Inc. has closed $145 million in Series B funding, with investments led by Evolution Equity Partners and Madrona Ventures . The new funding will help Observe scale its platform to meet growing customer demands while building out its engineering and sales functions. Soma Somasegar , Managing Director at Madrona Ventures, will also join Observe's board of directors.
Traditional monitoring and logging tools often prove too complex for modern distributed applications, leading to skyrocketing costs and inefficient mean-time-to-resolution (MTTR). In contrast, Observe’s solution simplifies observability by combining telemetry data, tooling, and a powerful AI-powered approach to troubleshooting . This approach provides on-call engineers with the information they need, precisely when they need it.
"The introduction of Observe APM fulfills our long-held vision of ingesting data into a unified lake, analyzing it using a single consistent language, and accessing it through a single user interface," said Jeremy Burton , CEO of Observe. "This solution is aligned with our future vision, where a network of intelligent agents will work alongside engineers to reduce MTTR further."
Key features of Project Voyager include:
With annual recurring revenue (ARR) growth of over 200% year-over-year and net revenue retention (NRR) at 190%, Observe is poised to continue its rapid expansion in the observability space. “We chose Observe for its unique architecture and Snowflake integration, helping us manage data more efficiently,” said Molham Aref , CEO of Relational AI.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has released a major update to its Amazon Q Developer agent for software development, with benchmark tests showing a 51% increase in tasks resolved. The agent is designed to assist developers by using artificial intelligence (AI) to address software development issues that would traditionally require human intervention.
This improvement was measured using a benchmark called SWE-bench , developed by OpenAI. The benchmark evaluates how effectively AI can resolve coding issues that developers commonly face, specifically in Python. The results show that the Amazon Q Developer agent’s task resolution score improved significantly from 25.6% to 38.8% on a verified dataset and from 13.82% to 19.75% on the full SWE-bench dataset.
According to Neha Goswami , Director of Engineering for Amazon Q Developer, this progress reflects the AI agent's evolving ability to take on more complex tasks. "AI agents like Amazon Q Developer will continue to evolve, leveraging advances in large language models (LLMs) to resolve increasingly complex software development challenges," said Goswami.
The continuous improvements highlight how AWS is integrating AI to support developers and software engineers by automating more intricate aspects of the development process.
