Digital transformation in 2022
We have all heard about the success of the BMW flying car. It is appalling to see how things possible only in imagination and movies are now a reality. However, the actual utilization of a flying car is one or two decades away, but some things have accelerated from being imaginative to being a reality. Some examples are robots, automation, chatbots, digital payments, cloud servers, cryptocurrencies, etc., to name a few.

These digital business trends have revolutionized the world that we live in. Every little thing involves technology and digitization. As a result, the business of every sector needs to digitize itself for sustainability. The business which does not involve technology will be extinct sooner or later.

The Covid-19 pandemic has increased the need for digital transformation. The trends in digital transformation that were to be evolved in the coming years have already been implemented.

It has been almost two years since the pandemic hit us. And thanks to the massive vaccination rollout, the world is slowly getting back to the new normal. And digital transformation plays the most significant role in this evolution.

What is Digital Transformation?

Digital transformation is incorporating technology to ease your work. It is implemented to deliver results, increase employee engagement and enhance customer experience.

Digital transformation has been a trend since the typewriter took over handwriting. It has evolved tremendously since then. Digital transformation strategies have led to the much-awaited industrial revolution. It was revolutionizing the sectors at its own pace, but the pandemic accelerated it.

Incorporating digital transformation trends is a necessity for businesses to sustain and succeed. There is a huge impact created by digital transformation trends in the past years. Now, let us look at the digital transformation predictions that will impact the work culture in 2022.

Digital Transformation Trends of 2022

Improved Connectivity (5G)

The pandemic has fueled the telecommunication industry to accelerate the implementation of 5G. With the increase in remote working, virtual meetings, collaborative software, IoT, and anything that requires the internet, speed and bandwidth are paramount. This has led to the evolution of the 5G trend.

By 2022 all major phone companies will have produced compatible handsets and affordable packages to make the world 5G ready!

AI Technology

AI is already being implemented for core business processes. It is utilized mainly in processes, strategies, and many operations of various sectors. AI has made it possible for machines and humans to work collaboratively. As a result, it has opened doors to endless possibilities.

According to a survey by net solutions, 57.7% of the healthcare sector are planning to implement AI for their day-to-day operations.

IoT

Believe it or not, machines have become an integral part of our life. IoT has made it possible for machines to read our bodies and minds, from waking us up to monitoring our health and daily activities. Then they sync the data with other devices to give us accurate results.

But IoT has achieved more than we could imagine. For example, sensors have made it possible to operate machinery on construction sites with remote human assistance. As a result, IoT is changing the world that we live in by 2022.

Cybersecurity

There is a fantastic fact that the companies with the best security system have an employee retention rate of 84%. This proves that security has so many unseen benefits.

The evolution of digital trends is directly proportional to the threats to the systems. It is a fact that the more technology advances, the more vulnerable the systems become.

But this is taken care of. All sectors have highly prioritized cybersecurity.  As a result, immensely talented people are employed for this job. Moreover, the integration of Blockchain, Big Data, cloud servers has led to the surge of more secure systems.

Thus, by 2022 systems will be highly secured, and cybersecurity job trends will also be on the rise.

Benefits of Digital Transformation

As we say, again and again, digital transformation is the need of the hour. Incorporating digital trends leads to more resilient operations and end-to-end process automation while reducing complexity.

The significant benefits of embracing digital trends are
  • Improved customer experience
  • Increase in productivity and ROI
  • Elevating profits and reduce in frictions
  • Resilient supply chain
  • Efficient work culture and leadership

Final Words

The need of businesses in 2022 is to be automated and autonomous.  Hence it is essential to embark on the digital journey and build digital transformation roadmaps. Thus, the above digital transformation trends are sure to leverage technology, solve problems and make life easier.

The advances of AI in healthcare

Article | February 11, 2020

With the Government investing £250 million into the project, the Lab will consider how to use AI for the benefit of patients – whether this be the deployment of existing AI methods, the development of new technologies or the testing of their safety. Amongst other things, the initiative will aim to deliver earlier diagnoses of cancer. It is estimated that in excess of 50,000 extra patients could see their cancer being detected at an early stage, thus boosting survival rates. More specifically, a study has shown that AI is quicker in identifying brain tumour tissue than a pathologist. This would have a positive knock-on effect in other areas, such as enabling money to be saved (that otherwise would have been spent on further treatment) and reducing the workload of staff (at a time when there is a crisis in NHS workforce numbers).

Prnewswire | May 26, 2023

Simplifai, the Secure AI company, today announced the public launch of Simplifai Archiver, an AI-powered solution that intelligently archives email and attached documents. It ensures appropriate emails and documents are filtered for privacy or sensitivity, are made publicly made available if appropriate, and finally correctly archived. Emails that are private are excluded from archiving and publishing. The solution supports multiple forms of automation and decision support. Norway alone spends 7.7 billion Norwegian kroner (approximately 770 million Euros) per year on archiving solutions*, however many do not archive emails as there has been few tools that do so efficiently. Reports by Riksrevisjonen** points to a lack of archiving as a structural problem that affects transparency and trust in democracy. These are problems the Simplifai Archiver addresses. Simplifai Archiver uses trainable artificial intelligence to deduce whether an email is public or personal, is suitable for archiving, and whether or not it is appropriate to be published publicly. Initially focused on Norway, the Simplifai Archiver has been developed in a MVP project with The Norwegian National Archives and has already received official recognition by the Norwegian Data Protection Authority. "At Mural, we give teams the tools to work smarter and collaborate better," said David Baga, CEO of Mural. "We're excited to be releasing new features that will help teams work together more effectively, no matter when or where they work. Our new AI-powered features powered by Microsoft help teams save time while also boosting their potential for solving problems." Mural is powered by Microsoft Azure, enabling the company to scale and operate on a secure cloud built to meet the needs of global enterprises. The new AI-powered capabilities will be built on Microsoft Azure OpenAI, enabling Mural to leverage Microsoft's capabilities and framework for responsible AI safely and securely. In 2022, Mural was awarded the Microsoft Partner of the Year Award for its integration with Microsoft Teams and also earned Microsoft 365 Certification — the first application in the visual collaboration category to achieve this distinction. Today, Mural integrates with the Microsoft ecosystem to create connected collaboration experiences that eliminate context switching and improve workflows, saving teams hundreds of hours weekly. Most recently, Mural's integration with Microsoft Teams expanded to Microsoft 365 and Outlook. These integrations provide Microsoft users the ability to search, share, and collaborate on murals in real time from within Outlook or the M365 platform. Other integrations include Azure DevOps, OneDrive, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Mural's AI-powered capabilities will allow members to get started quickly and conquer the blank page by generating ideas, finding common themes, and helping to expand on a concept. Specific AI-powered features to be available in the private beta will include: Mind maps - Beginning with a central idea, users can leverage AI to suggest additional ideas based off of initial input. This enables collaborative teams to generate and expand on ideas faster and more effectively than before. Clustering - Leveraging AI to identify patterns and similarities between ideas, while automatically moving related items together into named groups, this feature will empower teams to effectively synthesize ideas and quickly move forward with more accurate recommendations, insights, and consensus. Actions - Harnessing AI capabilities, users will be able to save time by streamlining common meeting leader tasks in a mural like starting timers, voting sessions, and generating content for brainstorming. As an enterprise-ready solution, the new capabilities are designed to be private and secure for the teams that use them. Alongside these new capabilities, Mural recently announced an updated user interface thoughtfully designed with a modern look to be simple for teams to begin utilizing right away. "Conceptually, our priority was to inject a visual element to the AI technology that has been shaking up the workplace," said Matt Heying, head of product at Mural. "With this in mind, our AI capabilities are designed to leverage the uniquely human capabilities of creative problem-solving and collaborative teamwork all in one place with the benefits of AI. By freeing users from various laborious tasks and making the results collaborative and visual, the ability to invest in higher-order thinking becomes a path to formerly untapped productivity and ingenuity." The company will discuss the new AI-powered capabilities in more depth in a session at Microsoft Build, titled: Slow Starts to Stellar Results: How AI Can Improve Team Collaboration. The session will be given virtually on May 23 from 5:15-5:30 p.m. PT and will be held live on May 24 from 11:30-11:45 a.m. PT. Participants can sign up for a private beta* waitlist after the live demo/session on May 23 to test these features and provide feedback to Mural's product and engineering teams. Mural plans to announce additional capabilities later this year. For more information, please visit: https://bit.ly/4391mwm.
