Zivatar: Communication and Safety App for College Students

Zivatar is a new social messaging mobile application that improves communication, as well as safety. It includes numerous features that allow users to communicate with individuals and groups, navigate to any location using Google maps, and stay safe with a battery monitor. With Zivatar, you can send your location to trusted family and friends before your phone battery dies so that you can find your phone or find each other even when you aren’t able to communicate. For example, imagine you’re exploring your local college town for the first time with your friend. You stop to look at something in a window frame, and when you look up, you can’t find your friend anymore. You pull out your cellphone and call her, but you quickly realize that neither her nor you know where the other is, and her phone battery is quickly dying. She sends you her location using Zivatar, and you follow the directions from Zivatar Instant Navigator. While you are walking, you get an alert saying that her phone has died and giving you her last location. You walk to this new location, and find her standing a few feet away.
