The Viettel Group and NVIDIA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to form a strategic relationship to enhance technology research and solutions for Viettel and Vietnam.
Viettel is the first business in Vietnam to formally create a strategic relationship with NVIDIA incorporating AI activities and one of just five in Asia. Regarding AI hardware and software, NVIDIA is a world leader from edge to cloud computing. Seventy percent of the top 500 fastest supercomputers in the world employ technology from the company.
Viettel will join NVIDIA's Partner Network, a global community of top businesses from various sectors. It anticipates gaining access to NVIDIA's experience in ML/AI research possibilities, industry partnerships, and other strategic engagements.
By utilizing NVIDIA's high-performance computing platforms and ecosystems, Viettel and NVIDIA will work together to expedite research into and the application of Viettel's AI technology in robotics, computer vision, natural language processing, and digital twins, and other fields.
"With the ultimate goal of advancing Vietnam's AI leadership, Viettel will promote further collaboration with world-leading technology firms. We are delighted to have NVIDIA as a key partner to drive our AI innovations to greater heights and to accelerate our AI research competency."
Viettel Deputy Director, Nguyen Dinh Chien
The businesses want to improve technical know-how and domestic workforce readiness in leveraging NVIDIA GPU-accelerated computing in AI model training, testing, and application. To that end, they aim to hold joint training courses, advice sessions, seminars, and conferences. The partnership between Viettel and NVIDIA represents a significant step in the implementation of Vietnam's National AI Strategy and the globalization of Viettel's AI solutions.
"As the only AI company that operates inside every other AI company, NVIDIA will join with Viettel to upskill Vietnam's workforce and forge the foundation for an expansive domestic AI industry. Viettel is taking action to ensure Vietnam has the necessary human and compute infrastructure needed to be an AI Nation. Within three years, I expect that other countries will aspire to be the 'Vietnam' of their region," stated Keith Strier, Vice President of Worldwide AI Initiatives, NVIDIA.
